New! EXCENT® University

GET is pleased to announce the launch of EXCENT University (EU). This unique program enables any South Carolina College or University to use EXCENT as part of their course work for special education teachers. This is an excellent way for teachers in training to get hands-on experience with the forms and data required in the administering of special education services.

EXCENT University (EU) South Carolina Guidelines

I. Registration and Enrollment
  1. Any South Carolina University may enroll in EU provided the course syllabus clearly identifies how the software will be used by each student.
  2. Each university may designate one instructor per semester as the EU on campus administrator.
  3. The EU administrator should complete the EU registration form by the end of week 1 of each semester.
  4. Once the registration form is complete and submitted the EU administrator will be contacted by the South Carolina EU Project Manager.
II. System setup and Requirements
  1. The EU Project Manager will provide the instructor with a spreadsheet layout and instructions for the administrator to provide the data needed to populate the EU database with participant's information.
  2. The GET Team will create a database of test special needs students for the participants to work with in the system.
  3. The EU Project Manager will then provide the EU administrator with the site URL and EU administrator login.
  4. The EU database and application will be hosted on the GET servers in Denver. You do not need to provide servers to house the application.
  5. To access EU a user will need a PC with Windows 98 or higher, broadband internet access, and an internet browser (Internet Explorer version 6 is recommended).
  6. In order to print from EU the PC needs to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed.
III. Training
  1. The EU on campus administrator should schedule a training date with the EU Project Manager.
  2. The EU Project Manager will provide 1 full day of training and setup support for the EU administrator.
  3. Training will include necessary admin components and teacher components needed for the course.
  4. The EU Project Manager will provide the EU administrator with links to online training manuals and demos.
  5. The EU Project Manager will NOT provide training to the students enrolled in the course. This is the EU admin's responsibility.
IV. Technical Support
  1. Training and ongoing technical support services will be extended to the EU administrator or an assigned designee.
  2. Students experiencing problems with their access or program functionality need to contact their on campus EU administrator.
  3. GET help desk and other support services are not available to individual students.

V. End of Course
One week after each term the system will be purged of all data.
