The Situation

Collier County Florida was utilizing a failing IEP solution. Teachers were very frustrated and a new solution was required. With tight budgetary constraints, and apparently no viable solution, Collier contacted GET (at the time, Horizon Software Systems, Inc.) for assistance.

The GET Solution

GET delivered a fully integrated Case Management and Medicaid Reimbursement solution. Collier was able to provide its teachers with a premier Case Management Solution (EXCENT® Medicaid). Additionally, by back-billing for Medicaid Services over the previous 12 months utilizing EXCENT® Medicaid, the solution paid for itself in the first year.

GET implemented EXCENT ONLINE® and EXCENT® Medicaid during the summer of 2003. The system currently supports 6,700 special needs children and over 600 end-users. The solution is fully supported by Collier County Florida at its hosting facility. Horizon worked with the Collier team to fully train and enable end-users of the solution to execute the IEP Process, Data Reporting, System Administration, and Medicaid Service Tracking process. Significant time was spent integrating with the state of Florida to ensure a fully HIPAA compliant interface with the state and federal government agencies. The GET team assisted Collier with the training and enablement of clinicians and service providers to ensure accurate and complete input of Medicaid encounter data. GET’s Medicaid support staff piloted the Medicaid Reimbursement process in coordination with the Collier team. Full ownership of the process was then transitioned to the Collier team once the process was fully tested and verified.
